Next Wine Tasting Is This Saturday, October 6th!
Paso Robles is a wine-producing area in California that you’re going to be hearing a lot about if you haven’t already. The reds are world-class, and still represent terrific quality for the prices. Come by this Saturday and taste these four, especially the Tower 15 wines, which are a Wine Market exclusive in Memphis.
June/July Purple Circle Selections

Next Wine Tasting Is This Saturday, April 14th!
This Saturday stop by the store to taste some new 2011 vintage dry roses. They have gradually begun to arrive, and we think they are the perfect foil for the fresh flavors of spring and the only antidote for the sweltering Memphis summer heat after that.
Next Wine Tasting is Saturday, April 7th!
- Clean Slate Riesling, Mosel 2010
- Zuccardi, Malbec, Mendoza 2009
This week we are featuring:
Clean Slate Riesling, Mosel 2010
Textbook in its representation of classic Riesling – apricot and peach fruit notes with a strong acidity. Sweet, but not crazy sweet or cloying.
and
Zuccardi, Malbec, Mendoza 2009
Densely succulent with bold black fruit elements and fine grained tannins. Some oak for texture, but no toasty vanilla elements here; encroaches on the celebration of black plum and blueberry.
Next Wine Tasting Is Saturday, March 17th!
- Velvet Devil Merlot, Columbia Valley, 2010
- Loredona Pinot Grigio, Monterey, 2010
Come try the wines we are featuring this Saturday:
Velvet Devil Merlot, Columbia Valley, 2010
A bounty of plush ripe black cherry flavors and a generously round finish.
and
Loredona Pinot Grigio, Monterey, 2010
The coolness of Monterey promotes a lean style of Pinot Grigio in the Italian mold – green apple and citrus with wiry acidity.
Next Wine Tasting Is Saturday, March 10th!
- 446 Chardonnay, Monterey, 2010
- Louis M Martini Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma, 2009
This week we are featuring:
446 Chardonnay, Monterey, 2010
Grown in the cool climes of Monterey, so it expresses shiny pineapple and citrus flavors – not much oak influence.
and
Louis M Martini Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma, 2009
Showcases pretty notes of black cherry, cassis, and baking spices. A California classic.
Next Wine Tasting is Saturday, Feb. 4th!
- Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris
- Chateau Haut Lamothe Bordeaux Rouge
This Saturday at the wine market come try Cousino Macul Sauvignon Gris, from Chile. It has lots of nice green melon and Granny Smith apple; a pretty finish is aromatic of green banana.
Also, we are featuring Chateau Haut Lamothe Bordeaux Rouge, from France. All the classic cassis fruit you want from Cabernet, but laid over an appealing earthy/mushroomy background. Great value in flavor-appropriate Bordeaux.
