Our staff loves to travel and learn about new wines to bring to you. Lindsay Smith, Manager at Wine Market, recently attended an interesting wine event called Wine Riot in Chicago! This event is oriented toward a younger audience and is designed to appeal to people who are new to wine and want to learn more. It was a great experience and gave Lindsay some great ideas for future products to bring to the store and for future in-store tastings. The event features a slew of wines to taste from many different regions, “crash courses” on different aspects of wine, “Wine 101” which featured side by side tastings of different styles, a bubbly bar, and much more.

Lindsay says: “This event was awesome as a younger person who is really into wine and promoting wine. This event is all about showing people that wine doesn’t have to be pretentious or overwhelming. A constant reminder at the event was ‘How do you know if a wine is good or bad? If you want to drink more of it, it’s good!’ which is a great thing to remember. I really enjoyed being able to see wine showcased as a fun experience. I try to promote the idea that although there are tons and tons of wines out there, it doesn’t have to be scary picking out wines you will like, and that is exactly why people like our staff at Wine Market are here to help.”
